About Joyfilled Author Services

Hi, I'm Joy, the owner of Joyfilled Author Services, LLC. I chose proofreading and beta reading because I care about the fine details of stories. Every comma, every period, every sentence makes an impact on the reading experience, and any piece out of place can knock the reader right out of Imaginationland. I'm here to make sure that all of those pieces are in the right places!

I earned my degree in business at Blue Mountain Community College while simultaneously studying Proofread Anywhere's proofreading course, graduating from both programs in 2023. I use the Chicago Manual of Style and the Merriam-Webster Unabridged Dictionary when I proofread.

When I'm not poring over grammar books, I can be found studying for my bachelor’s at Eastern Oregon University, working for a progressive church in a rural town, raising my daughter with my amazing partner, snuggling our two cats, volunteering with my local Altrusa chapter, and creating spaces for the LGBTQ+ community. I am also a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), LGBTQ+ Editors Association, Editors of Color Database, and the Professional Editors Network (PEN).

I also write in my spare time, crafting creative nonfiction about my colorful past and fictional stories about everything else! My sapphic short story, "Hearts and Crafts," is published in an anthology of LGBTQ+ writings (Crossing Paths: Queer Moments that Changed Everything).
